Maroon 5 in Australia

Three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum band MAROON 5 has announced rising Sydney star CXLOE as special guest on their RED PILL BLUES WORLD TOUR to Australia in February 2019 for three exclusive concerts.

CXLOE has just released her new single ‘Show You’ globally, written in Los Angeles with Max Farrar and Maroon 5’s Sam Farrar. Wandering between alternative and electronic, CXLOE’s pop sensibility brings the two diverse genres together to create a sound all of her own; a pure musical aesthetic met with complex and dark lyrics brings a true contrast to her artistry.

Maroon 5 stand out as not only one of pop music’s most enduring artists, but also one of the 21st century’s biggest acts. To date, the universally renowned Los Angeles band have achieved three GRAMMY® Awards and become “the most successful group in the history of the Billboard Hot 100” .

Light of Christmas - Sydney

Visit St Mary’s Cathedral for a stunning display of Christmas lights this December

Maybe it’s cold outside elsewhere, but here in Sydney the weather is just warming up, and that means it’s the perfect time of year to get out of the house and enjoy some Christmas lights. Now we’re not talking about the dodgy string of fairy lights your next-door neighbour has used to rim their veranda for the past six years—the one where every other bulb’s blown and half of the remaining ones flicker. No. We mean something a little more spectacular.

Christmas will once again take over St Mary’s Cathedral’s façade with a show of music, dancing lights and projections. From Wednesday December 5 to Tuesday December 25 the cathedral will be alight with vivid Christmas projections. The display will start at 7:30pm and go on until midnight each night.

The festivities will also feature a number of different choirs each evening, followed by the lights at 8.30pm. The show itself is separated into three segments: a Christmas-inspired, kaleidoscopic feast of light and colour, a story written and narrated by actor and writer Simon Pryce (AKA the Red Wiggle), and finally a collection of artworks of the Madonna and Child. Best of all it’s free!

So pack a picnic or bring some money and enjoy the variety of delicious food available. There’ll be churros, coffee, gelato, and a range of great savoury options for you to nibble on while you take in the displays.

City Hall is the civic seat of the city and is home to the Lord Mayor and Deputy Mayor. It also plays host to community and corporate events each day. Unlike a heritage home, it is a busy and active working building, so you may find that some of the rooms and features are not open to the public on certain days. Accompanied by a professional guide, these tours provide further access to different parts of the building as possible.

Tours are limited to 20 people per tour and may reach capacity early. Please arrive early to join your tour. Tours depart from the King George Square foyer. For bookings over 10 people, please contact the Museum’s Visitor Experience Coordinator on 07 3339 0845.
