An emotional journey through one of the greatest songbooks in rock 'n' roll history
Donning the iconic red beanie and sea foam suit once again, Brazilian pop legend Seu Jorge will reprise his role in Wes Anderson's cult classic The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou this summer, performing his smoky folk soundtrack of David Bowie favourites for the first time ever in Sydney.
Despite releasing The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions 12 years ago, Seu Jorge only began playing the album live last year at a limited series of prestigious venues including The Hollywood Bowl, in honour of the The Thin White Duke's heartbreaking passing. Described by Bowie himself as giving the songs 'a new level of beauty', Jorge rewired the likes of ''Ziggy Stardust', 'Changes', 'Space Oddity' and 'Starman' with Portuguese lyrics and an acoustic guitar to stunning effect.
A stand out soundtrack for Wes Anderson's absurdist motley crew adventure featuring Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Owen Wilson, Willem Dafoe and Jeff Goldblum, see Seu Jorge make his Opera House debut with one of the greatest songbooks in rock 'n' roll history... just remember to bring your red beanie!
Presented by the Sydney Opera House.
